Very nice army. I like the colours you chose.
ReplyDeleteWhich one did you use for your bases? They look very convincing..
cheers
Hi Seb,
DeleteThank you Sir, I appreciate your comments, as for the bases I use two colors Raw Sienna which is the main primer/under coat over Woodland Scenics - B1372 Ballast Fine Brown, I dry brush over the Raw Sienna base with Ivory Color including the side edges of the base.
The Paints I use are 2 oz Craft smart acrylic bottle paints. After dry brushing the base I use Raw Sienna again and paint little dots/areas on the base as "markers" to place the (2mm-4mm) siflor static grass tufts. The Raw Sienna markers creates shadows of the static grass tufts.
cheers,
Agree with Seb for the bases, your work is fantastic, the paintjob excellent, and I like the clothes too...a beautiful army!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, glad you like my painting style and work.... I have 5 other DBA armies completed painting and working on the bases/flocking etc...
DeleteThanks for dropping in..all the best to you sir!
cheers,
Beautiful, Phil! Your Syrian army is a treat to look at with so many colorful flourishes. I do love the Arab armies for their color. I love your shield work (again), horses, and the way that each figure is unique. And now I see the Sienna for shadows. Very clever!
ReplyDeletethanks Monty, I appreciate your kinds about my painting/basing etc.
DeleteI agree Arabic/Islamic armies are so colorful they are great to paint and I enjoy it as well!
all the best to you sir! :o)

ReplyDeleteSorry for this late visit/post, don't know how I missed it; but fantastic looking troops and basing. I know DBA is 15mm, but I had to read your post closely as they appear like larger 28mm figs. Best wishes for 2014, Dean
:o) no worries, all the best to you Dean.
