III/77 Scots Isles & Highlands

1050 AD - 1493 AD

DBA 2.2

15mm Essex Miniatures

Army Composition: 1 x (Gen) 4Bd, 8 x 4Bd, 3 x 4Bd or (2 x 3Bw + 1 x 3/5Wb)

Completed this nice and yet, tough :o) looking Scots Isles Army several weeks ago. (which is one of four DBA armies currently working on for my Dark Ages project) I'm not to sure, but the "well equipped" figures choices by Essex in this army pack look like are for mid/late 1300 AD?...anyway not to worry......

The Scots Isles Army can take on the Vikings during a game, but will be a slog for both players, considering the fact that both armies have roughly the same combat factors. Players really need high (double) dice rolls to eliminate/destroy each other's elements which may take up an extra hour or two to complete a game instead of the standard "quick" 30-45 minutes of real time gaming ..... anyway... Other Armies for the Scots Isles to play against are Feudal and Common Scots and Norse/Medieval Irish and just for fun, unhistorical enemies the Anglo-Danes and Normans.......

General (4Bds)

Heavy Infantry (4Bd)

Warband (5Wb)

Bowmen (3Bw)
